X-BIONIC® is happy to announce two new partnerships with professional road bike teams: Team Raleigh GAC from the UK and Team Hrinkow Advarics Cycleang from Austria. Since 2013 X-BIONIC® already supported the Team Colombia Cycling Pro who had a great race season last year and showed an outstanding performance during the Giro d’Italia. All of these teams use X-BIONIC® high performance sportswear and X-SOCKS® during their training sessions and races. Read more about these ambitious cycling teams in our team overview below.
The UCI Pro Continental licensed team was founded in 2011 and developed continously under the lead of team manager Claudio Corte. One intention of the Team Colombia Cycling Pro is to bring the Columbian cycling spirit back to the world public. In it’s first year of racing in 2012, the team achieved a lot of promising results during races in Colombia and Italy. In 2013 they earned a wildcard for the Giro d’Italia where they showed a great performance during the three weeks of racing there.
“We are really excited that X-Bionic is supporting our team with their hightech products for training, competition and recovery. I fully rely the scientifically, proven technology. My favorite is the Effektor Powershirt as underlayer under my bike shirt during my daily training and competition. Especially the moisture and temperature management help me to be focused on the race performance” said rider Fabio Duarte about his X-BIONIC® gear.
Team Raleigh GAC is one of the most successful roadbike teams in the UK. The UCI licensed Continental Team consists of 12 riders at the moment: “With national champions, World Champions, Olympic medallists and Elite title winners in the squad, plus a promising crop of neo-pro riders, the team are never far from the TV cameras and the top step of the podium.”
Team owner and Sports Director Cherie Pridham said about the new partnership with X-BIONIC®: “When X-BIONIC® approached us I was over the moon. The quality of their products is second to none and the possibility for our team to have X-Bionic technologies is invaluable.”
Rider George Pym mentioned about his new X-BIONIC® and X-SOCKS® products: “They are all great bits of kits and do exactly what you want. The socks are comfortable and are just the right height. The vests are brilliant as well. They keep you nice and cool on the climbs and warm on the descents. Once back to base the compression socks come into their own. You can really feel them working and allow us to do as much we can to make sure we recover in every way we can.”
The Austrian Team Hrinkow Advarics Cycleang from Steyr was founded in 2015. Founder and Manager of the team Alexander Hrinkow created his own bike label Hrinkow-Bikes 28 years ago. His son Dominik Hrinkow is a professional cyclist of the team and manager of it as well. The team consits of 11 riders at the moment.
One word of the team name Hrinkow Advarics Cycleang was created of two words: cycling and clean = cycleang. This is caused by the environment friendly approach of the team: the team cars are equipped with Eco-Drive that reduces the fuel consumption by 10 to 15 percent. The chain oil and bidons are addionally biodegradable and underline their sustainable intention.
From the beginning the whole team relies on high performance sportswear created by X-BIONIC® and X-SOCKS® during training sessions and races, rider Dominik Hrinkow mentioned about it:
“Our products from X-BIONIC® and X-SOCKS® are perfect for me as a road biker. During spring when it’s still quite cold outside I wear the Energizer Shirt under my team shirt to keep me warm during training and races. The shirt is also very well for my warmups before a race, the whole functionality of it makes a very good job. The functions of the X-SOCKS® Biking Pro convinced me as well: they fit perfectly and complete our equipment.”
Last Saturday we opened the cycling season with the first TeamRide in 2014. Although the weather wasn´t that perfect we had a nice ride. The Swiss cycling legend Tony Rominger came with us and was a great inspiration for all of us. Some guests came specially from Bern to join our ride, but most of the riders were from the closer region around Wollerau. The next TeamRide will be on Saturday 3th May and will start at the X-BIONIC® headquarter as usual. Get the latest updates for our next event at www.facebook.com/xbionic.int/events.
See you next time!
Road Biker! Some weeks ago we showed you the video How to be a … Mountainbiker, now the same producers published a new video for road cyclists. People who are not familar to road biking may think this is a kind of kidding, but many road cyclists may know the properties that are shown in the trailer. Enjoy this funny short movie!
Last weekend Hanka earned her 12th national cyclocross title. She showed an outstanding performance on the heavy track in Döhlau/Bavaria. She left her biggest opponents behind and finished after a race time of 43:15 min and saved a 1:40 min lead to the finish line.
Hanka said about her victory: “I am so happy about this victory. I could bring my best performance on the track, which was very hard to ride, especially the tricky downhill section”. Most of the competitors complained especially about this dangerous part, but Hanka was one of the athletes, who could drive pretty fast through this section.
In two weeks the world championships in Hoogerheide (NED) will be the next race for Hanka. There she will start in her brand new national champion styled shirt from X-BIONIC®. We wish her all the best for the competition!
If you are a road biker, you know that it is hard to ride from autumn to spring during the winter season. Cyclocross could be the right alternative kind of sport for you: it is short, more intensive and makes a lot of fun. We had a photo shooting with Hanka last week and will bring you a small off road guide with some tipps for that sport. The pro athlete and many times world and national champion will give you some tipps for your start to the cyclocross sport.
If you missed it, here is our making of collage form last week at Facebook:
