“Expensive, but definitely worth the money”

Of course, I am always cautious when I hear of a unknown company and that again someone tries to revolutionize the rather unspectacular market for underwear and socks. As already several top athletes and the whole Swiss ski national team trust in the products of X-Technology, something must be about it. So, X-UnderGear products ordered, testing does not hurt.
The concept of X-UnderGear
The functional underwear X-UnderGear is conceived to keep the body at a core temperature of 37°C (98.6°F) constantly even while doing extreme sports like skiing, running or climbing. Medics, scientists and athletes cooperated on the design. Through a 37°CCR-Technology the underwear cools or warms certain areas of the body. A Vibratronic-System mobilizes energy reserves by reducing the vibration. The garments have a snug fit and lessen vibration effectively. While taking a closer look at the shirt I realize: Nothing like this has existed yet. The filigrane air channels that adapt to every movement, a regulating system made of air chambers, channels and depot-niches, sitting up to 5mm away from the skin, which takes up and regulates moisture in a clever way. All of the X-UnderGear line is based on the insight that the body consits of different climate zones which react in different ways on physical strain. While some areas are sensible to hypothermia (e.g. thighs, knees and calves), others quickly produce excess heat. With the so-called 37°CCR-Technology excess heat is directed to the outside or to areas with an increased demand. Through AirTraps with climate channels moisture can get to the outside and evaporate. The cooling effect of this chills down the air in the climate channels and thus the skin is cooled down as well, despite not having a layer of sweat on it. That all sounds very scientific and sophisticated, and it is. Additionally to the product and material innovations, with their wording the people at X-UnderGear have created their own world. There are astonishing creations like the “3Dimensional Bionic Sphere System”, the “Traverse Chest AirConditioning Channel” or the “Tummy X-Control”. Also the materials like SkinNodor, Mythlan or Durawool give a hint that this is more than just simple cotton. Mythlan, for example, is a newly developed light-weight high-tech fibre. By using many light-weight, self-contained micro-fibres germs and bacteria cannot settle. Enough theory. I wear on the Magic Fleece. It fits very tightly, which probably looks great with well-trained athletes, but shows all problem zones with everyone else. The snug fit creates a very good coenesthesia, a slightly increased tension that feels comfortable. For a first test I go to the cross-country ski run. Over the X-UnderGear Shirt I am wearing only a fleece-jacket. Still, during the whole time of skating I am wonderfully warm and feel no moisture on the skin. While all my other sports underwear gets wet at some time, the X-UnderGear stays dry at any time. The moisture is wicked away und regulates the surface temperature of the whole body - that means sweat is reduced, not prevented. At home the next surprise: The X-UnderGear does not smell at all. Everyone who has stepped into a ski lodge after a skiing tour, knows to appreciate the dimension of this property. And it did not change even after wearing five times.
