Last weekend Hanka earned her 12th national cyclocross title. She showed an outstanding performance on the heavy track in Döhlau/Bavaria. She left her biggest opponents behind and finished after a race time of 43:15 min and saved a 1:40 min lead to the finish line.
Hanka said about her victory: “I am so happy about this victory. I could bring my best performance on the track, which was very hard to ride, especially the tricky downhill section”. Most of the competitors complained especially about this dangerous part, but Hanka was one of the athletes, who could drive pretty fast through this section.
In two weeks the world championships in Hoogerheide (NED) will be the next race for Hanka. There she will start in her brand new national champion styled shirt from X-BIONIC®. We wish her all the best for the competition!
If you are a road biker, you know that it is hard to ride from autumn to spring during the winter season. Cyclocross could be the right alternative kind of sport for you: it is short, more intensive and makes a lot of fun. We had a photo shooting with Hanka last week and will bring you a small off road guide with some tipps for that sport. The pro athlete and many times world and national champion will give you some tipps for your start to the cyclocross sport.
In Spring this year we had a great photo shooting in the Dolomites in Italy. It was a great weekend full of fun and cycling through that nice landscape in the Alps. We will publish a gallery of this event in one of the next posts here at the blog, stay tuned. If you like our bike wear, check out our gear for MEN and WOMEN!
Every year in summer starts the biggest yearly sports event: Tour de France. This year the three weeks lasting race starts on Saturday 29th of June at Corsica. All fans and spectators celebrate the 100th edition. X-BIONIC® supports Team Colombia since last Giro, which is already planning for the 101st edition.
The last Giro d’Italia in May earlier this year was a great event for the Team Colombia and X-BIONIC®: the riders achieved very good results and kept up with the best cyclists during the heavy mountain stages. The best rider of the team, Darwin Atapuma finished at the 18th place with a gap of 28:56 min to winner Vincenzo Nibali at the final ranking. Fabio Duarte finished 2nd at the heaviest mountain stage close behind the strong Nibali. These were promising efforts that make the team looking forward to the Grande Boucle in 2014.
Team Colombia, especially climber Jarlinson Pantoa, love X-BIONIC® Effektor™ xbs.precuperation™ socks and wear those every day after activity to relax the body and recover the muscles from the previous competition and also to prepare the legs before the next race. The special X-BIONIC® partial compression supports the blood circulation during the recovery of the riders. Check out the official Giro trailer of the team:
100th Tour de France: The greatest sports event 2013
The opening stage of the Tour de France 2013 starts with a flat course over 213 kilometers and will probably end with a sprint finish. After three weeks and 3479 kilometers hard fighting all riders will arrive in Paris as usual. The race will lead the teams over 7 flat stages, 5 hilly stages, 6 mountain stages with 4 summit finishes, 2 individual time trial stages, 1 team time trial stage and 2 rest days. Last years winner Bradley Wiggins won´t start and defend the yellow jersey from his victory last year, so his team mate Chris Froome became one of the main contenders for the title this year. The final podium will be honored at the 21st of July at the Champs-Élysées in Paris – we´ll see, who can leave the rest of the field behind!
Beginning with the Tour de France we want to start our summer photo contest at Instagram. There you can join with your favorite photo during the summer from your sports activity. All you need to do is add the hashtag #summerwithxbionic to your Instagram uploads. The three most liked photos will win one of the three X-BIONIC® prizes. See more details about the contest at the blog entry.
