Last Saturday, we organised the first X-BIONIC® Womens City Run in collaboration with SwissCityBootCamp. Two coaches and 25 extremely motivated women ran with our new X-BIONIC® TWYCE running wear through the city of Zurich. The weather was perfect with a deep blue sky, sunshine and a nice view to the swiss mountains. We did an intensive workout run of 4 kilometers with several exercises at some historical hotspots of Zurich.
After that nice training session we returned to our starting point at the 5-star hotel Park Hyatt Zurich. There we enjoyed a nice meal created by Frank Widmer, the so called brain-, mood-, und beauty-food was very delicious. We also got an interesting workshop about healthy nutrition afterwards. After the event, each participant received a goodie bag with some great beauty products especially for women. Everyone was happy with the event, it was very impressive and we are looking forward to the next workshop!
Last Saturday we organised another exclusive X-PerienceDay at our headquarter here in Wollerau. The sun was shining and the weather remained perfect during the whole event. Some of our fans traveled very long distances to participate, for example from Hamburg or Frankfurt/M. in Germany.
After a short meet and greet in the morning, we introduced the company and our team provided insights into our product development department. During the running and cycling part, our guests tested X-BIONIC® for Automobili Lamborghini Bike wear and THE TRICK® run and bike wear.
The running team explored the closer area next to our office location. The landscape around our company is quite hilly but very cool for such a running event. The cycling team covered about 55 kilometers over a few mountains and had a lot of fun. Our video team filmed during the whole ride and used a drone for some cool footage.
The lunch after the sporty part was very delightful and we enjoyed our meal outside, it was very warm and sunny. The X-PerienceDay was very successful with nice people and we are looking forward to our next event in October.
Some weeks ago we met again nice people here in Wollerau for another edition of our X-PerienceDays series. About 20 fans were selected among lots of applications and joined our off-road event. Our special guests this time were the mountain bike guides from the Focus X-BIONIC® Team and Roman Zirwen who is a specialist for orthopaedics, sports osteopathy, acupuncture and preventive medicine.
Before we started our mountain bike tour, our guests got special insights to our company and the product development department. Roman Zirwen, our medical specialist, gave a short introduction to the problem areas of the body, especially for cyclists. He showed some nice and easy to learn exercises every cyclist can do regularly to keep the body in a good shape for cycling.
After every participant received its test equipment, the guides gave a short introduction to the planned route and the tour started. After the first part of the cycling track we met for a short break and our guests could eat a little snack and refill their bottles.
After the group returned to our company, we offered a delicious meal and the successful test day was finished. The next test day will be at the Eurobike Demo Day at the end of August in Friedrichshafen (GER). The next X-PerienceDay in Wollerau will be at the 12 September with running and road bike.
Martial arts is a very fast and sophisticated kind of sports. Only the best athletes perform good enough to win international championships and act as a stunt double in Hollywood. X-BIONIC® ambassador Chloe Bruce is one of these rare athletes and one of the best martial arts fighters worldwide.
Besides her several championship titles she is also a Guinness world record holder and acts for different Hollywood movies as a stunt double. Some weeks ago we talked to Chloe and she told us a bit about her training and career as well:
“I originally started training in the footsteps of my father and brother. They were training before I was, and after seeing my brother train, I wanted to give it a try also.”
Chloe trains nearly every day and has multiple talents in different kinds of sports. She also created an individual move:
“My favourite martial arts move, has to be the scorpion kick, which I created myself, and is my signature kick.”
Chloe is also publishing a training series on YouTube named Flexy Friday. There she teaches some special moves and how much control you can have over your kicks and your legs in general with a proper training. In one of her Flexy Friday videos you can see her wearing the X-BIONIC Effektor gear for women. You can find this and other fascinating martial arts videos in the tabs below.

I have been training in martial arts for 22 years now.
How did you come to this kind of sports?
I originally started training in the footsteps of my father and brother. They were training before I was, and after seeing my brother train, I wanted to give it a try also.
What´s your recommendation for interested and beginners in martial arts?
I would say give it a go. You never know if you are going to enjoy something, until you put yourself out there and go for it! Martial arts has helped me with self respect, confidence and all round fitness. It was the best thing I ever got into.
How often do you train?
I try to train at least 6 times a week for a few hours at a time. My training varies according to my work and shooting schedules.
What is your favorite martial arts move?
My favourite martial arts move, has to be the scorpion kick, which I created myself, and is my signature kick.
What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future are to continue down the path I am going, which is working in movies and in the not so distant future I would also love to have my own full time martial arts school where I can pass on my knowledge to a younger generation and start coaching. I love coaching and seeing the improvements made by others.
Do you have idols?
My main idols are my parents, Debbie & Roy Bruce, I literally wouldn’t be where I am today without them. They have sacrificed to help fund my sport, and never gave up hope on me.
What is your top 5 movie hitlist?
My top 5 movie hitlists:- 1. Shawshank redemption – 2. Taken – 3. Rush hours – 4. Ong bak – 5. Unleashed
What is your top 5 playlist for training sessions?
I don’t really have a top 5, but I do have a training playlist which I love to work out to. It consists of a lot of chase & status, Eminem, which craft, pendulum. I like fast paced, or rap with meaningful words.
You already tested X-BIONIC, which products did you wear?
For X – Bionic I tried the Effector running power pants and the Effector running power shirt.
What is your favorite feature of them, what do you like most of it?
I loved how they sat on my body. I thought I would feel tight and restricted but they are some of the most comfortable training wear I have tried. My best feature is the element of keeping my body cool whilst working out.
Read the story about a pair of X-SOCKS®, the exact socks Sam Langley bought from Sweatshop in Plymouth for £13.00 (X-SOCKS® Speed One for men) and what happend to him during the trail running event ‘Tough Mudder‘:
Basically, I attended the event ‘Tough Mudder’ on the weekend in which I participated. ‘Tough Mudder’ if you are unaware is a 12 mile army-style assault course set in the welsh breacon beacons national park. I wore the socks as well as some running shoes in which I bought prior to the event, knowing the event would test myself thoroughly with the terrain.
Unfortunately, after only 3 and a bit miles the soles fell off both the shoes, and then within 4 and a half miles the shoes had torn so much they were impossible to wear on my feet, therefore having to make the decision to bin the shoes. Teammates and people who were running the course all said to me I should give in as there was no way in which I could run the final 7 1/2 miles just in socks, covering hills and a total elavation of 500ft, rocks, knee-deep mud, water, rivers as well as obstacles. But with little deliberation I carried on and managed to finish the course in a good time, doing the majority of the distance in the socks.
When I finished, I took off the socks that had carried me basically 8 miles, and to my astonishment, not one hole appeared in the sock. Which I thought was amazing as I had ran 12 miles in them, 8 of which I did bare footed and just in the socks, encountering many obstacles on the way as well as 8 miles of direct contact with rocks, mud, grass, safety pins, water, hay. I just thought that was pretty impressive considering most socks would have worn away as well as my hope of finishing the course.
I have various photos of the socks at the end of the challenge, but also the company I work for our getting a 6 part tv series on Sky next year, and the film crew filmed us going around the course, including the saga with the socks, so they may even get air time on sky next year when the series goes on air.
